Football Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion played against Greene County on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Ronald Wilder Jr. was nothing short of spectacular for Greene County: he rushed for 205 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 32 yards and one touchdown. Wilder Jr.'s rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 130 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cornelius Hunter, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one TD.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Greene County, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Marion and Greene County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams will take on rival Choctaw County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Greene County is set to square off against their familiar foe Lamar County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
