Basketball Recap: Homer's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Homer had won five straight games and Alexandra Albrecht did her part to make it six on Friday. The Homer Knights simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Walthill Blujays 80-33 thanks in part to Albrecht, who shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Harris, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Despite the loss, Walthill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Khirstin Wolfe went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Homer's record now sits at 17-1. As for Walthill, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Homer will take on Winnebago at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Homer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season. Walthill has already played their next game, a 53-44 defeat against Osmond on the 1st.
