Volleyball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Takes a Loss

Roanoke Rapids had taken Halifax Academy down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets lost 3-0 to the Vikings. The Yellowjackets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Roanoke Rapids took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-18.

Payton Odom was nothing short of spectacular for Halifax Academy: she had seven digs and three aces. Odom has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last nine times she's played.

Roanoke Rapids now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Halifax Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Roanoke Rapids has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Wake Prep Academy on the 11th. As for Halifax Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Pungo Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
