Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for Moriah

Moriah extended their home winning streak to 12 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Cooper Allen. The Moriah Vikings simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Peru Nighthawks 89-50 thanks in part to Allen, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Wyatt Whitman, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Moriah's record now sits at 2-0. As for Peru, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moriah will head out to square off against Ticonderoga at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peru, they will venture away from home to face off against Crown Point at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
