Basketball Recap: Caston Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Grace Colvin and Madisyn Douglass

After flying high against Oregon-Davis last Monday, Caston came back down to earth. The Comets took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis Cass Kings on Wednesday. If the Comets were looking for revenge after losing 42-23 to the Kings when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Caston's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madisyn Douglass, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Grace Colvin, who shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points. Douglass is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Caston's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lewis Cass, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Caston will be playing at home against North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewis Cass, they will face off against Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
