Soccer Game Preview: Avalon vs. Calvary Chapel

Avalon and Calvary Chapel are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Avalon Lancers will head out to challenge the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Avalon will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Providence, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Avalon's defense stepped up to hand Providence a 1-0 shutout back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Capistrano Valley Christian, falling 7-0.

Calvary Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 6-3-2. As for Avalon, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5-1.
