Basketball Game Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Vanlue Wildcats

The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will challenge the Vanlue Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgemont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Vanlue likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Ridgemont was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to Van Buren.

Meanwhile, Vanlue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-35 loss at the hands of Leipsic.

Ridgemont will have to contain Owen Roszman as he made an impact in Vanlue's last game. He posted 11 points and five boards. Roszman has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Wallen, who scored five points and five rebounds.

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Vanlue, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Everything came up roses for Ridgemont against Vanlue in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 72-29 win. Will Ridgemont repeat their success, or does Vanlue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
