On Tuesday, Breckinridge County faced Taylor County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taylor County Cardinals. The Fighting Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Breckinridge County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kayleigh Huffines, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Grimes, who went 8 for 16 en route to 18 points.

Breckinridge County's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Taylor County, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breckinridge County will head out to square off against Meade County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Taylor County, they will venture away from home to face off against Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
