Volleyball Recap: River Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Frontier Cougars 3-0 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

River never let Frontier on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Hallie Hammel paced River's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hammel got some help from Maci Isaly and her 33 assists. Hammel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

River now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Frontier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

River has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Strasburg-Franklin on the 15th. Frontier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
