Recap: Monroe City Panthers vs. Routt Catholic Rockets
The Monroe City Panthers proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 36) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Routt Catholic 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Monroe City has posted since January 15th.
Despite the loss, Routt Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Bryson Mossman scored 27 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Long, who scored eight points.
Monroe City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Routt Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
Monroe City will head out on the road to take on Centralia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Centralia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Routt Catholic, they and Brown County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
