Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

The Stevenson Patriots will take on the Warren Township Blue Devils at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Stevenson and five for Warren Township.

On Saturday, Stevenson didn't have quite enough to beat South Elgin and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by just one run.

Stevenson got a good showing from Yuni Hamideh, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Hamideh has allowed over his last three games.

Meanwhile, Warren Township has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.45 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell just short of Fremd by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by just one run.

Warren Township's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Stevenson beat Warren Township 9-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
