Volleyball Recap: South Warren Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Mccracken County

South Warren faced McCracken County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Spartans came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 26-24.

Allie Chesnut paced South Warren's offense, picking up 15 kills. Chesnut got some help from Annie Stewart and her 21 assists. Chesnut was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

South Warren's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. As for McCracken County, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6.

McCracken County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Lexington Catholic on the 4th. Hopefully South Warren paid attention to the Mustangs' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
