Basketball Recap: Justin Gonzalez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hollywood over Roybal

Hollywood was the 71-58 winner over Roybal when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hollywood Sheiks took a 70-54 bruising from the Roybal Titans on Wednesday.

Hollywood lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Justin Gonzalez, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tajdre Gayle, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Roybal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abayome Shambulia, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Shambulia is becoming a predictor of Roybal's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Seth Morris was another key player, putting up 20 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Hollywood's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Roybal, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Hollywood nor Roybal have any future games scheduled.
