Football Recap: Northwest Christian School's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After flying high against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Kahlotus last Friday, Northwest Christian School came back down to earth. The Crusaders took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colville Crimson Hawks on Friday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Northwest Christian School lost, don't look at Adin Spuler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 79 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also threw for 42 yards and one TD.

Brock Benson produced another solid effort rushing for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 82 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes for Colville. Benson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Mason Beardsley was another key player, gaining 103 total yards and two touchdowns.

The defeat snapped Northwest Christian School's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Colville, their record now sits at 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian School will take on Asotin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Colville, they will square off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
