Volleyball Recap: Montgomery Falls Short of Georgetown in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Montgomery couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Georgetown Eagles on Friday. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-13 in the first set.

Montgomery started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Montgomery still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Marriott, who had 18 digs and two aces. Marriott has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Montgomery's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 37-11. As for Georgetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-13 record this season.

Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgetown, they will face off against Friendswood on Tuesday.
