Volleyball Recap: Watervliet Starts Season with Win at Home

Watervliet took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rensselaer Rams as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cannoneers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Watervliet was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Watervliet found their leader in freshman Sophia Rogers, who had 27 assists and six aces.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Watervliet will take on rival Chatham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rensselaer is set to square off against their familiar foe Maple Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
