Baseball Recap: St. Elizabeth Vikings vs. McKean Highlanders
St. Elizabeth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McKean Highlanders. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Zach Tolvaisa was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Wilson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
St. Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for McKean, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Elizabeth will head out to square off against Hodgson Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKean, they will venture away from home to face off against First State Military Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
