Basketball Recap: University Wildcats vs. Kennedy Cougars

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact University can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Kennedy Cougars and fell 59-26. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 900th, while the Cougars are ranked 256th).

University lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Katty Noundjio, who posted eight points.

Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Andreya Villa dropped a double-double with 20 points and 16 boards and Gabriella Valles had 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valles has scored all season. Alize Perez was another key player, putting up five points.

University is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18. As for Kennedy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kennedy, they will square off against Arleta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
