Football Game Preview: Weaver Beavers vs. New Canaan Rams + How To Watch

The Weaver Beavers will venture away from home to face off against the New Canaan Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Weaver comes in on seven and New Canaan on 21.

Weaver is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] 63-28. The Beavers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Weaver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kadain Claflin-Coy, who threw for 325 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 70 yards on only six carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave Claflin-Coy a new career-high. Weaver's leading receiver Jyiere Perry was Claflin-Coy's top target yet again, picking up 175 receiving yards and four scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Weaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Weaver's defense and their four sacks. ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate]'s QB won't forget Aden Brown anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Johnathan Mitchell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, New Canaan faced Darien in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Rams blew past the Blue Wave 42-7. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Weaver's record is now 9-2. As for New Canaan, their record now sits at 11-0.
