Football Game Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. McLoud Redskins + Official Tickets

The Bristow Pirates will face off against the McLoud Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bristow and 13 for McLoud dating back to last season.

Bristow is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Sulphur on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates had to suffer through a 52-14 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

Meanwhile, McLoud fought the good fight in their overtime game against Seminole on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 48-42 to the Chieftains. On the bright side, the 42- point performance marked the Redskins' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Bristow will need to focus on slowing down Phoenix Lopez, one of several McLoud players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 120 yards and one TD, and also threw for 43 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lopez didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made five total tackles (1.0 for loss). Leroy Thomas was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores.

McLoud's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bristow, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Bristow against McLoud when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
