Football Game Preview: Wootton Patriots vs. Magruder Colonels + How To Watch

Wootton is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to take on the Magruder Colonels at 6:30 p.m. Wootton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Wootton came up short against Walter Johnson and fell 27-20. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly seven points.

Wootton might have lost, but man, Joshua Reid was a machine: he rushed for 84 yards and three scores. Ashton Ingram helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Magruder, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They snuck past Rockville with a 12-6 victory on Friday.

Wootton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Magruder, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Wootton was able to grind out a solid victory over Magruder when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 20-7. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Colonels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
