Softball Recap: KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Starts Season with Victory on the Road

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 22-18 win over the Riverdale Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate got a massive performance out of Zaniyah Dais, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with seven stolen bases and five runs. The dominant performance also gave Dais a new career-high in hits (three). London Huey was another key player, going 3-for-6 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverdale only posted a batting average of .192.

Riverdale now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate will head out to take on Holy Innocents Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverdale, they will host Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
