The Savannah Country Day Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-17 win over Hilton Head Prep on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Savannah Country Day has managed all season.
Hilton Head Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Erin Cleary and Molly Lorenz. Cleary scored nine points, while Lorenz scored two points.
Savannah Country Day has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Hilton Head Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Frederica Academy at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Frederica Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Hilton Head Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaufort Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaufort Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Hilton Head Prep is ranked 105th).
