Basketball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Takes a Loss

If Emmanuel Christian was riding high fresh off their 40-12 takedown of Sumter Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Emmanuel Christian Crusaders lost to the Northside Christian School Eagles on the road by a 37-21 margin on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-19 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Emmanuel Christian lost, don't look at Maddie Oliver. Despite the final result, she posted seven points in addition to six boards and six steals. Oliver is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabbi Crowley, who had four points and seven rebounds.

Emmanuel Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Northside Christian School, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Emmanuel Christian and Christ the Cornerstone Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Emmanuel Christian is facing Christ the Cornerstone Academy at the right time seeing as Christ the Cornerstone Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Northside Christian School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
