Volleyball Recap: Southampton Takes Down Windsor in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southampton had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Windsor Dukes. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Dukes recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-19, 20-25, 25-14.

Southampton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Bryant, who had nine digs and six aces. That's the most aces Bryant has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Michaela Kizer, who had 11 digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Southampton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in four consecutive matchups.

Southampton's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Windsor, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Southampton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dukes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
