Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Academy Takes a Loss

The matchup between Hillcrest Academy and Van Buren County on Monday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Ravens fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 12-11. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2017.

This is the second loss in a row for Hillcrest Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Van Buren County, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Coming up, Hillcrest Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Lone Tree at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.63 runs per game on average), something the Ravens will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Van Buren County, they will face off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
