Baseball Recap: Edgewood Warriors vs. Lakeside Dragons
The matchup between Edgewood and Lakeside on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Edgewood Warriors fell just short of the Lakeside Dragons by a score of 14-12. Edgewood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lakeside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Monday.
Tony Hall was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 5-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Hernandez, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lakeside, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood will take on St. John at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to challenge Austintown-Fitch at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Austintown-Fitch will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Lakeside surely won't give up without a fight.
