Volleyball Recap: Forreston Cardinals vs. Pecatonica Indians
Forreston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pecatonica Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss last Saturday.
Forreston was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22.
Hailee Vogt paced Forreston's offense, picking up eight kills. Vogt really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten.
Leading Pecatonica to victory were Sam Cobb and Maddy Tipton. Cobb had 22 digs and one assist, while Tipton had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Tipton a new career-high.
Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Pecatonica, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season.
Forreston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lena-Winslow on the 16th. As for Pecatonica, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Pearl City on the 16th.
