The Alcorn Central Bears will challenge the Coahoma County Red Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alcorn Central has given up an average of 33.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alcorn Central is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They were beaten by Kossuth 49-15. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Despite the loss, Alcorn Central had strong showings from Ashton Peters, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and Ty Whitten, who rushed for 69 yards. Peters didn't just play on offense: he also made nine total tackles and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Coahoma County entered their tilt with Independence on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 30-0. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Panthers had established a 22-point advantage.
