Volleyball Recap: Jackson Day Comes Up Short

If Jackson Day was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mariners came up short against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 25-18.

Jackson Day's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Piedmont Community Charter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jackson Day will take on rival Sugar Creek Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter is set to challenge their familiar foe Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
