Milford hadn't done well against South Lyon East recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mavericks walked away with an 8-5 win over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Cougars on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-6 loss.

Tori Russell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Hana Scripture, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for South Lyon East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Milford will take on rival Lakeland at 4:00 p.m. on May 1. Meanwhile, South Lyon East is set to face off against their familiar foe South Lyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
