Baseball Recap: West Ranch Takes a Loss

West Ranch blew Castaic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Castaic got their revenge. The West Ranch Wildcats fell just short of the Castaic Coyotes by a score of 6-4. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

West Ranch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Diaz has posted since back in March of 2024. Connor Clayton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

West Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Castaic, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

While West Ranch had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
