The matchup was Wells' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiedrell Ansley, who posted 18 points.

George Walton Academy skirted past Tattnall Square Academy 58-55 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Trojans' Antone Johnson, who scored 21 points.
