Eagle Pass posted their closest victory since February 20th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the United Longhorns 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won six in a row.

Aquiles Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Anthony Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Eagle Pass hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Eagle Pass' record is now 12-9-2. As for United, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eagle Pass is set to square off against their familiar foe United South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.4, the Panthers 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, United will challenge rival Laredo LBJ at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
