Basketball Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short

Pittsfield was the 60-44 winner over Calhoun when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pittsfield Saukees lost to the Calhoun Warriors on the road by a 52-34 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Saukees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Warriors are ranked 208th).

Pittsfield has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Calhoun, they pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Pittsfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calhoun, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Griggsville-Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
