Softball Recap: Mandarin Comes Up Short

Mandarin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nease Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Ryleigh Booth was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was MaKayla Oxley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mandarin's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Nease, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Mandarin has already played their next match, a 9-3 win against Wolfson on the 5th. As for Nease, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-11 defeat against Episcopal School of Jacksonville on the 5th.
