Football Recap: C.A. Johnson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

C.A. Johnson dropped to 4-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They were dealt a 53-8 defeat at the hands of the Lamar Silver Foxes. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Silver Foxes from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why C.A. Johnson lost, don't look at Jeremiah Knightner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards and one TD. Knightner also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.

As for Lamar, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games.

Lamar's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nygel Eaddy, who rushed for 129 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Those 129 rushing yards gave Eaddy a new career-high. Tj Samuel was another key player, rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

C.A. Johnson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 30-20 win against Lee Central on the 31st. As for Lamar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 20-14 victory against Lewisville on the 31st.
