Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Salinas). They walked away with an 88-80 win over the Greenfield Bruins on Saturday. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Bruins on their court since December 1, 2023.

North Salinas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Guevara, who posted 17 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Andre Lizaola, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

North Salinas was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for North Salinas and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points over those games. As for Greenfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

North Salinas will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Vikings will be up against the Condors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greenfield, they will take on Hollister at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
