Preview: Burns Broncs vs. Niobrara County Tigers

After two games on the road, Burns is heading back home. They will take on the Niobrara County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Burns suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 76-36 defeat at the hands of Bridgeport. Burns found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mason Terry, who scored eight points along with four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Medley, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Niobrara County faced Lingle-Fort Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Niobrara County's tough 67-46 loss to Lingle-Fort Laramie on Friday might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Niobrara County has suffered against Lingle-Fort Laramie since January 17, 2020.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Niobrara County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.

Burns took their win against Niobrara County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 77-57. Does Burns have another victory up their sleeve, or will Niobrara County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
