Baseball Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Marshall Lions. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

North Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Marlow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Marlow has become a key player for the Thunderbirds: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise. Lane Phegley was another, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Marshall, their record is now 9-19.

Looking ahead, North Central will challenge Sullivan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Arrows will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Thunderbirds surely won't give up without a fight. Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
