Basketball Game Preview: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

The North Gaston Wildcats will face off against the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Gaston picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They slipped by West Lincoln 39-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Jalen Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Hill, who posted five points and nine rebounds.

North Gaston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stuart W. Cramer). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 73-46 victory over Cherryville. The win was some much needed relief for the Storm as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Stuart W. Cramer found their leader in sophomore Gavin Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Jordan is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Dj Cross was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

The victory got North Gaston back to even at 6-6. As for Stuart W. Cramer, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

North Gaston didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Stuart W. Cramer in their previous meeting last Friday, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Stuart W. Cramer's Makhi Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.
