Recap: Hamilton Marines vs. Lakeland Lakers
The Hamilton Marines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-33 walloping at the hands of Lakeland. Hamilton has struggled against Lakeland recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dulce Canedo, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Zoey Bowman, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Hamilton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 4-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will face off against Clinton Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Clinton Christian is ranked 403rd, while Hamilton is ranked 382nd). As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to take on Fremont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
