Basketball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Falls to Terra Ceia Christian in First Game of Season

Pungo Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 61-56 to the Terra Ceia Christian Knights on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Terra Ceia Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aidan Persons, who went 10-for-17 en route to 26 points and seven boards. Persons is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Seth Meijer was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 16 rebounds.

Coming up, Pungo Christian Academy will square off against Unity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terra Ceia Christian, they will take on Ahoskie Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
