Basketball Recap: Oakwood Has No Trouble Against Villa Grove

Oakwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Villa Grove Blue Devils with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 68-50. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Carsen Dudley had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 33 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Ben Darling, who posted 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Villa Grove lost, don't look at Thomas Vandeventer. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eamon Reedy, who scored nine points.

Oakwood has already played their next matchup, a 96-32 victory against Judah Christian on the 25th. As for Villa Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-42 win against Chrisman on the 25th.
