Softball Recap: Branham Takes a Loss

Branham was the 11-1 winner over Sequoia when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Branham Bruins fell just short of the Sequoia Ravens by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.

Ellie Bliss and Kaitlyn Douglas stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bliss scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Douglas went 3-for-4 with one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Burns, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Branham has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Sequoia's win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Branham will challenge Willow Glen at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Sequoia, they will take on Milpitas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milpitas has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.2 runs per game on average), something Sequoia will no doubt try to take advantage of.
