Baseball Recap: Montgomery County's Losing Streak Snapped at 12 Games

Montgomery County can bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Dooly County Bobcats as the Montgomery County Eagles made off with a 22-1 win. The Eagles' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Luke Burns was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jay Harris was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jake Hudson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Montgomery County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
