Softball Recap: Pacific Indians vs. Linn Wildcats
Pacific had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it six. They lost 8-1 to the Linn Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
As for Linn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
For Linn's part, Ava Warren made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Warren has posted since back in September. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzy Hackmann, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emma Starke, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, Pacific will host Oakville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Linn, they will take on St. Elizabeth at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
