Soccer Game Preview: River View vs. Union Local

The River View Black Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Union Local Jets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

River View took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Edison a 9-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Cash Guilliams as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Union Local hadn't done well against Harrison Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Jets came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 2-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for Union Local as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Union Local's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1. As for River View, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-5.

Everything went River View's way against Union Local when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as River View made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Black Bears repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
