Baseball Recap: Keys Gate Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doral Academy, Keys Gate was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Coral Reef Barracudas a 1-0 shutout. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Barracudas recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Jaime Osorio's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Keys Gate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JP Luna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Those two hits gave Luna a new career-high.

Keys Gate's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Coral Reef, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Keys Gate will challenge Schoolhouse Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolfpack's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Coral Reef, they will venture away from home to challenge Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
