It's playoff time, and Mira Mesa had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Point Loma Pointers 18-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Pointers: they've now won four in a row.

The critical scores for Mira Mesa came from Grace Dunbar, Vyanna Ta, and Lauren Nguyen.

Mira Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Philippa Liu and Dunbar. Dunbar got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mira Mesa now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Point Loma, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Mira Mesa will take on Mater Dei Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Marauders 14.7, the Crusaders 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Point Loma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
